IDL ന്‌ രണ്ട് തരം ക്രമീകരണങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ട്. ഒന്ന് ആ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലുള്ളവരുടെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ തീരുമാനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് അധിഷ്ഠിതമായ മാറ്റങ്ങള്‍. അത് തികച്ചും പ്രാദേശികമാണ്‌. രണ്ടാമത്തേത് Navigation ന്‌ വേണ്ടി ലോകത്ത് സ്വീകരിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ഒരു standard . അതില്‍ രാഷ്ട്രീയമാറ്റങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് അനുസൃതമായ തിരുത്തലുകള്‍ വരുത്തിയിട്ടില്ല. ലോകത്ത് Nautical Almanac പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന ആധികാരിക കേന്ദ്രമായ HM Nautical Almanac Office, UK യുടെ സൈറ്റില്‍ world time zone map കൊടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. last updated in September 2011 . അതിലെ IDL ന്‍റെ shape നോക്കുക. ആദ്യകാലത്തുള്ള വളവ് മാത്രമേ അതിലുള്ളൂ. അതില്‍ കിരിബാറ്റി പോലും മാറിയതായി കാണില്ല. ഇതേ map ആണ്‌ US naval Observatory യും സ്വീകരിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്. IDL ന്‍റെ ചരിത്രം Circumnavigator’s Paradox എന്ന പ്രതിഭാസവുമായാണ്‌ ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്. അത് ആദ്യമായി രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയത് Syrian prince and geographer-historian Isma‘il ibn ‘Ali ibn Mahmud ibn Muhammad ibn Taqi ad-Din ‘Umar ibn Shahanshah ibn Ayyub al Malik al Mu’ayyad ‘Imad ad-Din Abu ’l-Fida (1273-1331). Lunar Date Line എന്ന സംഗതി ഇല്ലാത്ത ഒന്നാണ്‌.
അത് "അഡ്ജസ്റ്റുമെന്‍റുകള്‍" ഇല്ലാതെ നിര്‍ണ്ണയിക്കുക സാധ്യമേ അല്ല.
ചന്ദ്ര മാസമാകട്ടെ , സൂര്യമാസമാകട്ടെ അത് ദിവസങ്ങള്‍ ചേര്‍ന്നതാണ്‌. . ഭൂമിയില്‍ ദിവസങ്ങള്‍ തുടങ്ങുന്നതിന്‌ ഒരു ക്രമമുണ്ട്. അതാണ്‌ ശാസ്ത്ര ലോകത്ത് നിന്നുള്ള ലേഖനം ഉദ്ധരിച്ചത്. ഏറ്റവും ചുരുങ്ങിയത് 1433 വര്‍ഷമായിട്ടും മുസ്ലിംകള്‍ അത് പഠിച്ചില്ലെന്നോ. IDL എന്ന സംവിധാനം ഇല്ലാതക്കുക സാധ്യമല്ല. അത് ആധാരമാക്കിയാണ്‌ "ദിവസം" ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത്. അത് തെറ്റാണെങ്കില്‍ പിന്നെ എന്താണ്‌ ശരിയെന്ന് പറയേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. ആദ്യകാല മുസ്ലിംകള്‍ അതില്‍ അജ്ഞരായിരുന്നില്ല എന്നതിന്‌ തെളിവാണ്‌ മേലെ ഉള്ള ലിങ്ക്.
IDL നെ പറ്റി അന്വേഷിച്ചാല്‍ കാണുക "Discovery of the International Date Line" എന്നാണ്‌.... ,. എന്താണ്‌ Discovery എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞാല്‍., മുമ്പ് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നത് കണ്ടെത്തുക. മാഗല്ലന്‍റെ യാത്രയില്‍ ഈ പ്രതിഭാസം കണ്ടെത്തി. അത് ലോകം ഉപയോഗിച്ചും വരുന്നു.
IDL ല്‍ സൂര്യന്‍ നട്ടുച്ചയാകുമ്പോള്‍ നേരെ എതിര്‍ വശത്തായ ഗ്രീന്വിച്ചില്‍ രാത്രി പുതിയ ദിനം തുടങ്ങുന്നു. മുസ്ലിംകള്‍ക്കാണ്‌ ഈ പ്രതിഭാസം സ്വന്തം മതത്തില്‍ ഏറ്റവും ആവശ്യമുള്ളത്. IDL ന്‍റെ ഒരു വശത്ത് വ്യാഴാഴ്ച്ച ളുഹര്‍ നമസ്‍കരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ , മറുഭാഗത്ത് ജുമുഅ നമസ്കരിക്കുന്നു, ഒരേ സമയത്ത്. ഇങ്ങനെയല്ലേ ഭൂമിയില്‍ നടന്നു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്. പിന്നെ ഏത് അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലാണ്‌ എതിര്‍ക്കുന്നത്. അത് തെറ്റെങ്കില്‍ പിന്നെ ഏതാണ്‌ ശരി. ഭൂമിയില്‍ എവിടെയാണ്‌ ജുമുഅയും ളുഹര്‍ തമ്മില്‍ ഒരേ സമയത്ത് വേര്‍തിരിയുന്നത്??? അത് ഉണ്ടായല്ലേ തീരൂ.
ഒരു കാര്യം തെറ്റെന്ന് പറയുമ്പോള്‍, പിന്നെ എന്താണ്‌ ശരിയെന്ന് പറയേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. ഇനി ഏതാണ്‌ ശരി എന്ന് മുസ്ലിം ലോകം പഠിച്ചിട്ട് വേണമെന്നുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍, പഠനം പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കും വരെ നിലവിലുള്ളത് സ്വീകരിക്കുക, അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ നിലവിലുള്ളതില്‍ ഏറ്റവും ശരിയായത് പിന്പറ്റുക. ഇന്ന് ലോകം സ്വീകരിച്ച Zero Greenwich prime meridian അല്ലാത്ത എന്തുണ്‌ ഉള്ളതില്‍ ഏറ്റവും ശരി.
ദിനമാറ്റരേഖക്ക് ഇരുവശമുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് അവര്‍ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കും പോലെ ഇരുഭാഗത്തേക്കും മാറാം. പക്ഷെ അങ്ങിനെ ഒന്ന് ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കുക, അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ ഇല്ലാതാക്കുക അസാധ്യം.
ഒരു ഡിഗിയേയും 359 ഡിഗ്രിയേയും വേര്‍തിരിക്കുക തന്നെ വേണം, ഈ ഉരുണ്ട ഭൂമിയില്‍. അതിന്‌ അല്ലാഹു സംവിധാനിച്ച രീതി എന്താണ്‌?? അത് മനസ്സിലാക്കിയാല്‍ പിന്നെ അതിനെ അവലംബമാക്കി പുതിയതിലെ തെറ്റുകള്‍ കണ്ടെത്താന്‍ എളുപ്പമായിരിക്കും. എന്താണ്‌ അല്ലാഹു ഒരുക്കിയിട്ടുള്ള അതിനുള്ള സംവിധാനം?
ഇന്ന് തുടരുന്ന ഡേറ്റ് ലൈൻ അല്ലാഹു നിശ്ചയിച്ചതാണെന്നും ശരീ‌അത്തിന്റെ പിൻബലമുള്ളതാണെന്നും ഉള്ള വാദം തെറ്റാണെങ്കില്‍ ശരിയായ ഡേറ്റ്ലയൈന്‍ എവിടെയാണ്‌? എവിടെയാണ്‌ അല്ലാഹു അത് നിശ്ചയിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്.?? ഒരു ഡേറ്റ് ലൈനിന്‍റെ ആവശ്യം ഇല്ലയോ?? അത് അറിഞ്ഞാല്‍ തെറ്റ് തിരുത്താന്‍ കഴിയും?
ഭൂമിയിലെ കിഴക്കും പടിഞ്ഞാറും എവിടെയാണ്‌? എവിടെ കിഴക്ക് തീരുന്നു, എവിടെ നിന്ന് പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ആരംഭിക്കുന്നു ??
International Date Line ല്‍ മാറ്റം വരുത്താന്‍ പാടില്ല. അഥവാ മാറ്റം വരുത്തിയാലും standard മാറുന്നില്ല.
പിന്നെ അതുണ്ടാക്കുന്ന പ്രശ്‍നം ഒരു ഹിജ്‌റ കമ്മിറ്റിക്കരൻ ജീവിച്ചിരിപുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ അയാൾക്ക് മാത്രമല്ല അവിടെ എത്തിച്ചേരുന്ന സകല മുസ്ലികള്‍ക്കും ബാധകമാണ്‌. എതിര്‍ക്കുന്ന പണ്ടിതനും അത് തന്നെയാണ്‌ പ്രശ്-നം.
International Date Linelല്‍ എന്താണ്‌ തെറ്റ്. ജനങ്ങള്‍ zone മാറുന്നതോ? അതൊരു political change മാത്രമാണ്‌. Navigation standard ല്‍ ഒരു മാറ്റവുമില്ല എന്നാണ്‌ മനസ്സിലാക്കാനായിട്ടുള്ളത്.
എന്‍റെ വിലയിരുത്തലില്‍ തെറ്റുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ തിരുത്തുക. പുതിയ വിഷയം, പുതിയ അന്വേഷണവും പഠനവും. തെറ്റിന്‌ സാധ്യത് ഏറെയും.

WHERE THE DAY CHANGES.By F REDERIC R. HONEY.The traveler who makes a voyage round the world has the unique experience of apparently lengthening or shortening the year by one day according as he travels east or west. If he travels east, i.e. in the direction of the earth’s rotation on its ax.is, his own motion is added to that of the earth, and the resultant motion is greater than the earth’s. As a consequence the sun rises earlier each day, and the length of the apparent day is less than twenty four hours. But if he travels west, i. e. in a direction opp osite the earth’srotation, his motion is subtracted from that of the earth, and the resultant motion is less than the earth’s. The sun rises later each day, and the length of the apparent day is greater than twenty four hours.A For example, a traveler A, starting from the meridian of Greenwich and going east, reaches longitude 180° east in a certain number of short days; while B, traveling in the.opposite direction, reaches 180°west in a certain num‘ber of long days. Meeting at 180° E. and W., A and B (whose watches we assume have not been altered during the voyages) discover an accumulated discrepancy in their reckoning oftwelve hours each, or a total of one day.It has been found convenient to make the change of the day at this longitude. This is a suitable meridian because it passes through an area on the earth’s surface which is almost entirely covered by water.This is obviously an advantage because it would be impracticable to change the day at a meridian which passes through extended land areas. It would result frequently in next door neighbors adopting different chronologies, and differing both as to the date and day of the week.............

By ROSGOE LAMONT.The change could have been made at any place, but the International Date Line which has been agreed upon coincides approximately with the 180th meridian, and as that is the place where the day first begins, ....When the world was circumnavigated for the first time by the explorers led by Magellan,... The few survivors of the expedition (Magellan perishing) completed the journey in 1522, and one of the members named Pigafetta wrote an account of the voyage. An English translation of this work was published inClevela nd, Ohio, in 1906, and this is what Pigafetta says about the surprise of the circumnavigators when they learned, on nearing ‘home, that in their reckoning they were one day behind the Portuguese .“Finally, constrained by our great extremity, we went to the Cape Verde Island s. Wednesday, ]uly 9, we reached one of those islands called Saint James and immediately sent the boat ashore for food. . . . . We charged our men when they went ashore in the boat to ask what day it was, and they told us that it was Thursday with the Portuguese. We were greatly surprised for it was Wednesday with us, and we could not see how we had made a mistake; for as I had always kept well, I had set down every day without any interruption. However, as was told us later, it was no error, but as the voyage had. been made continually toward the west and we had returned to the same place as does the sun, we had mlade that gain of twenty four hours, as is clearly seen."where does Wednesday first begin? It is necessary to decide upon some place where the day begins before it begins anywhere else, and this place is called the date line since the day dates from that line,though some people might think that “the line of confusion”, spoken of by Isaiah, would be ta good name for it. When Wednesday begins at the date line it is Tuesday everywhere else (considering the line to coincide with the meridian and using local time), and Wednesday begins continuously westward around the world as the various places have the midnight hour of Tuesday. The line is a party wall between two hemispheres separating the days. .When the region adjoining it on the east is ready for Wednesday to begin, the date line has passed through all of Wednesday and is ready_ for Thursday. If a traveler,coming from the Philippines, reaches the line when Thursday is just beginning there, when he crosses it he enters the region where Wednesday is just beginning, and although he has finished with Wednesday once he has got to go over it again. Another traveler, crossing the line at the same time in the opposite direction, will have no day named Wednesday, and of course the corresponding day of the month will also be repeated or skipped the same as the day of the week.“The line is not only imaginary; it has not even an astronomical reason for its existence, like the equator. It is purely and entirely an arbitrary convention; and yet its position is of exceeding importance to mankind. From the very convenience of this position we are apt to forget its value; for the line is the great day origin. It sets, not the time of day merely, but the day itself. At the line two days meet. There, though time flows ceaselessly on, occurs that unnatural yet unavoidable jump of twenty four hours; and no one is there to be startled by the fact——no one to be perplexed in trying to reconcile the two incongruities. continuous time and discontinuous day. There is nothing but the ocean and that is tenantless.”

ഇന്ന് തുടരുന്ന ഡേറ്റ് ലൈൻ അല്ലാഹു നിശ്ചയിച്ചതാണെന്നും ശരീ‌അത്തിന്റെ പിൻബലമുള്ളതാണെന്നും ഉള്ള വാദം തെറ്റാണെങ്കില്‍ ശരിയായ ഡേറ്റ്ലയൈന്‍ എവിടെയാണ്‌? എവിടെയാണ്‌ അല്ലാഹു അത് നിശ്ചയിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്.?? ഒരു ഡേറ്റ് ലൈനിന്‍റെ ആവശ്യം ഇല്ലയോ?? അത് അറിഞ്ഞാല്‍ തെറ്റ് തിരുത്താന്‍ കഴിയും?
ഭൂമിയിലെ കിഴക്കും പടിഞ്ഞാറും എവിടെയാണ്‌? എവിടെ കിഴക്ക് തീരുന്നു, എവിടെ നിന്ന് പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ആരംഭിക്കുന്നു ??
International Date Line ല്‍ മാറ്റം വരുത്താന്‍ പാടില്ല. അഥവാ മാറ്റം വരുത്തിയാലും standard മാറുന്നില്ല.
പിന്നെ അതുണ്ടാക്കുന്ന പ്രശ്‍നം ഒരു ഹിജ്‌റ കമ്മിറ്റിക്കരൻ ജീവിച്ചിരിപുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ അയാൾക്ക് മാത്രമല്ല അവിടെ എത്തിച്ചേരുന്ന സകല മുസ്ലികള്‍ക്കും ബാധകമാണ്‌. എതിര്‍ക്കുന്ന പണ്ടിതനും അത് തന്നെയാണ്‌ പ്രശ്-നം.
International Date Linelല്‍ എന്താണ്‌ തെറ്റ്. ജനങ്ങള്‍ zone മാറുന്നതോ? അതൊരു political change മാത്രമാണ്‌. Navigation standard ല്‍ ഒരു മാറ്റവുമില്ല എന്നാണ്‌ മനസ്സിലാക്കാനായിട്ടുള്ളത്.
എന്‍റെ വിലയിരുത്തലില്‍ തെറ്റുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ തിരുത്തുക. പുതിയ വിഷയം, പുതിയ അന്വേഷണവും പഠനവും. തെറ്റിന്‌ സാധ്യത് ഏറെയും.
